The Furman Paladins go on the road to oppose the Elon Phoenix in Tuesday college basketball action.
The Furman Paladins remained undefeated at 8-0 with a 2OT 90-88 victory against Western Carolina on Saturday. Furman shot the ball well enough at 46.6% but Western Carolina connected at 41.2% with seven more looks with a few more long balls to stay even.
Jordan Lyons kept the Paladins undefeated with 29 points on 10-26 from the floor including 6-17 from long range while Matt Raferty added 21 points, 15 rebounds and four blocks on 9-15 accuracy. Clay Mounce gave Furman 17 points, 13 rebounds and three blocks on 7-13 shooting followed by an eleven point, five pull and ten assist effort from Alex Hunter.
The Elon Phoenix never found the shooting touch in a 65-58 defeat at the hands of visiting Boston University on Saturday. Elon struggled to make shots at 32.7% and were outrebounded 44-28 to the 40.7% shooting Terriers.
Sheldon Eberhardt kept the Phoenix alive with 20 points and five helpers on 5-9 marksmanship and 7-9 at the stripe. Elon received 19 points and eight rebounds from Steven Santa Ana on 6-14 from the floor including 4-8 from beyond the arc. The Phoenix saw 19 points from the rest of the team but this was a two man offense.
Furman are 9-4 ATS in their last 13 games overall. Elon are 5-16 ATS in their last 21 games overall and under is 9-4 in Elon last 13 overall. Under is 9-3 in the last 12 meetings.
Furman has done well so far and the road shouldn’t be an issue in this matchup…
