MVC college basketball action pits the Illinois State Redbirds against the Evansville Purple Aces.

The Illinois State Redbirds are shooting for back to back wins after squeezing by Southern Illinois 59-58 Tuesday as a one point favorite.

Illinois State connected at conly  36.2%  but forced 18  turnovers to barely overcome the 41.5% accuracy of the Salukis.

Zach Copeland was the top option for the Redbirds with 14 points, three yanks and three assists while Phil Fayne added 13 points and eight rebounds.

Milik Yarbrough gave Illinois State eleven points and four boards while Keyshawn Evans contributed eight points and three helpers.

The Evansville Purple Aces look for consecutive victories after defeating Missouri State 70-64 as a six point road dog on Wednesday.

The Purple Aces connected at 44.4% and committed 17 turnovers that kept the 39.7% shooting Bears in the game with 18 more shots.

The Purple Aces received 16 points, eight rebounds and three assists from KJ Riley with John Hall adding eleven points and four pulls.

Shea Freehan gave Evansville ten points followed by Marty Hall who contributed nine points and five rebounds.
