Evansville Purple Aces +1 O/U: 134.5
The Missouri State Bears and the Evansville Purple Aces will meet up on the college basketball court Wednesday.
Missouri State enters this one with a 13-12 mark on the season. The Bears are 5-1 over their last six games, with wins over Loyola IL, Bradley, Valparaiso, Southern Illinois and Illinois State.
In the win over the Redbirds, Missouri State’s Tulio Da Silva led the team with 17 points and seven rebounds. Ryan Kreklow added 14 points for the Bears in that one, and Keandre Cook pulled down a team-high 10 rebounds.
Over on the Evansville side, they’re 10-15 this season. The Aces have lost six of their last seven games, falling to Illinois State, Drake, Northern Iowa, Bradley, Indiana State and Southern Illinois during that stretch.
In the loss to the Salukis, Evansville guard Marty Hill led the team on 20 points with four rebounds and two assists. Dainius Chatkevicius doubled up for the Purple Aces in that game with 13 points and 10 rebounds.
The Bears are 4-1 ATS in their last five Wednesday games and 5-16 ATS in their last 21 road games. Missouri State is 1-4 ATS in the last five after a straight-up win and 7-18 ATS in their last 25 after an ATS loss.
Meanwhile, the Aces are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 Wednesday games and 2-5 ATS in their last seven overall. Evansville is 2-5 ATS in their last seven versus the MVC and 0-4 ATS in their last four after an ATS win.
Missouri State had a nice 39-33 second half against Illinois State in their last outing, which helped the Bears eke one out 66-65. It’s been a nice stretch of games for Missouri State, but each of their last four games has been decided by six points or fewer.
The Aces bagged a 70-64 road win the last time these teams met up, but if the Bears keep the screws locked on defense they should play better here. I’m going with Missouri State on the cover.
