The Rider Broncs kick off the MAAC college basketball slate with a visit to the Fairfield Stags.
The Rider Broncs head in to MAAC play with losses in four of five after a 90-79 defeat at VCU on Sunday as an 11.5 point road dog. Rider fell behind by 16 points at the intermission and were outshot 53.2%-47.6%.
The balanced Broncs received 12 points each from Ahmad Gilbert, Jordan Allen, Kimar Williams and Stevie Jordan with Jordan adding six rebounds and seven helpers.
Rider saw Frederick Scott toss in eleven points on 5-9 accuracy with Ajiri Ogemuno-Johnson contributing seven points.
The Fairfield Staggs are eyeing consecutive victories after a 63-47 win at New Hampshire snapped a four game slide. Fairfield survived despite 40.8% shooting and 16 turnovers.
The Stags leaned heavily on the production of Neftali Alvarez and he responded with a contest high 23 points and five pulls on 9-17 accuracy.
Jesus Cruz gave Fairfield ten points and six rebounds on 3-10 from the floor and 4-4 at the line while five others contributed five points apiece.
