Instate and CUSA college basketball rivals the Florida Atlantic Owls and FIU Golden Panthers face off Wednesday.

The Florida International Golden Panthers were outscored 105-97 by Marshall on Saturday as a nine point road underdog.

Florida International was down ten points after 20 minutes and traded baskets the rest of the way with Marshall holding a 57.8%-53.8% shooting edge.

Devon Andrews led the big offense of the Golden Panthers with 23 points and six pulls with Brian Beard Jr. adding 16 points, six boards and six helpers.

FIU saw 16 points and five boardss from Antonio Daye Jr. followed by Osasumuwen Osaghae netting ten points and hauling in 15 rebounds.

The Florida Atlantic Owls fell to 2-4 in conference after a 72-66 defeat to Western Kentucky on Saturday as a 10.5 point road dog.

Florida Atlantic held a six point edge at the halfway point but couldn’t get enough second half stops with Hilltoppers winning with an 18-4 advantage at the line.

The Owls received 17 points and five pulls from Xavian Stapleton with Anthony Adger adding another 17 points and four yanks.

FAU received nine points and three yanks from Michael Forrest while Aleksandar Zecevic contributed seven points and seven rebounds.

FIU Golden Panthers are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 road games and  are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 Wednesday games and are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games overall. Florida AtlanticOwls are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games following a straight up loss and are 2-11 ATS in their last 13 Wednesday games and are 1-7 ATS in their last 8 games following a ATS win. Over is 13-5 in the last 18 meetings and favorite is 5-2 ATS in the last 7 meetings.

Both teams have similar performances against like competition but I’ll go with the more defensive minded Owls…
