The Florida Atlantic Owls visit the FIU Golden Panthers in a CUSA college basketball matchup.

The Florida Atlantic Owls have been in a bit of a funk with losses in three of four after a 78-74 defeat to rival FIU on Wednesday.

Florida Atlantic trailed by double digits early on and never fully recovered with 37.7% from the floor negating eight  more shots.

Anthony Adeger kept the Owls in contention with a contest high 21 points and four pulls with Richardson Maitre adding 15 points, seven boards and five assists.

Xavian Stapleton gave FAU 13 points and nine rebounds followed by Aleksandar Zecevic with eight points and another seven boards.

The Florida International Golden Panthers are eyeing a season sweep of Florida Atlantic following Wednesday’s four point road win. 

FIU was in control from the opening tip and stayed one step ahead of the Owls behind 47.5% marksmanship including 12-26 from distance.

Devon Andrews led a balanced Golden Panthers with 19 points and four pulls followed by Trejon Jacob with 15 points and three yanks.

Brian Beard Jr. gave FIU another 14 points and nine helpers while Antonio Daye Jr. added five boards and another seven assists.
