FIU Panthers +1 O/U: 149.5
The North Texas Mean Green and the FIU Panthers will meet up on the college basketball court Saturday.
North Texas comes into this one at 20-10 overall. The Mean Green have lost their last six straight games, dropping to Western Kentucky, FAU, FIU, LA Tech, FAU and Marshall in succession.
In the loss to the Herd, North Texas’ Umoja Gibson led the team with 21 points and five rebounds. Jorden Duffy added 20 points with five rebounds and two assists for the Mean Green in that one as well.
Over on the FIU side, they’re 18-12 this year. The Panthers had a four-game win streak going versus Rice, North Texas FAU and LA Tech but dropped their last game to Marshall as well.
In the loss to the Herd, FIU’s top scorer was Osasumwen Osaghae with 19 points and 11 rebounds. Brian Beard also managed to finish in double-figures for the Panthers in that one with 12 points and six assists.
The Mean Green are 3-12-1 ATS in their last 16 overall and 5-15-1 ATS in their last 21 versus CUSA. North Texas is 0-5-1 ATS in their last six road games and 0-5-1 ATS in their last six after an ATS loss.
Meanwhile, the Panthers are 4-0 ATS in their last four home games and 4-1 ATS in their last five overall. FIU is 5-2 ATS in the last seven Saturday games and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 after a straight-up loss.
There was a point where it seemed like North Texas could do no wrong in early February, but since then the team has hit the skids and they’ve only put up more than 60 points once during this six-game losing streak.
FIU managed a win 69-59 the last time these teams met up, and I don’t see a whole lot of reasons to think they won’t take it again. I’m going with the Panthers here.
