The Miami Hurricanes and Florida State Seminoles meet Wednesday in college basketball action at the Donald L. Tucker Center.
The Miami Hurricanes need a victory here after losing six of their last nine games. The Miami Hurricanes are averaging 77.6 points on 46.4 percent shooting and allowing 70.6 points on 44 percent shooting. Chris Lykes is averaging 17.5 points and 3.6 assists while Zach Johnson is averaging 14.3 points and 2.9 rebounds. Anthony Lawrence II is the third double-digit scorer and Dejan Vasiljevic is grabbing 4.4 rebounds. The Miami Hurricanes are shooting 36.1 percent from beyond the arc and 70.2 percent from the free throw line. The Miami Hurricanes are allowing 32.4 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 32.1 rebounds per game. The Miami Hurricanes have lost both road games this season.
The Florida State Seminoles look for another victory to build on their solid 12-2 record. The Florida State Seminoles are averaging 79.2 points on 46.3 percent shooting and allowing 68.1 points on 42.4 percent shooting. Terance Mann is averaging 12.1 points and 1.9 assists while Mfiondu Kabengele is averaging 11.4 points and 4.8 rebounds. Trent Forrest is the third double-digit scorer and M.J. Walker is dishing 1.7 assists. The Florida State Seminoles are shooting 33.6 percent from beyond the arc and 73.5 percent from the free throw line. The Florida State Seminoles are allowing 32.9 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 33.5 rebounds per game. The Florida State Seminoles have won all seven home games this season.
The Hurricanes are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 road games, 0-4 ATS in their last 4 vs. Atlantic Coast and 7-21 ATS in their last 28 games overall. The Seminoles are 1-8 ATS in their last 9 vs. Atlantic Coast, 1-6-1 ATS in their last 8 home games and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The over is 4-1 in Seminoles last 5 overall. The over is 10-1 in Hurricanes last 11 road games.
The Miami Hurricanes clearly aren't playing up to their potential, as the season feels like it's starting to get away from them, and they're being outscored by 15.5 points on the road this season. The Florida State Seminoles have been an offensive explosion at home this season and look like a squad that can compete for an ACC title. With that said, this is a rivalry game and there's a history of these games being close. I often throw the numbers out the window in rivalry games, as you can expect both clubs to bring it. It's also worth noting that FSU hasn't been covering any numbers despite all these SU victories. Give me the Canes and the points.
