The Line: Florida State Seminoles -3.5 -- Over/Under: 146
The Villanova Wildcats and the Florida State Seminoles will be matching up in college basketball activity on Sunday from HP Field House.
Villanova enters this one at 4-2 on the season. The Wildcats took out Morgan State and Quinnipiac to open things up before falling to Michigan and Furman. Villanova then won their next two over Canisius and OK State.
In the Cowboys game, Eric Paschall led the Cats with 22 points and five rebounds, while Dahamir Cosby-Roundtree just missed on a double-double with 13 rebounds, nine points and three assists.
Over on the FSU side, they’re 5-0 this season and rolling along quite well. After opening up with wins over Florida, Tulane, Canisius and UAB, the Semioles outlasted LSU 79-76 in a thriller.
For the Tigers game, MJ Walker was the top Florida State scorer on 21 points and five rebounds, while Terance Mann put up 12 rebounds, nine points and two assists in a great effort.
The Wildcats are 6-1 ATS in their last seven following an ATS win and 4-1 ATS in their last five versus the ACC. Villanova is 12-4 ATS in their last 16 overall and 26-9 ATS in their last 35 following a straight-up win.
Meanwhile, the Seminoles are 4-0-2 ATS in their last six neutral-site games and 6-1-2 ATS in their last nine overall. Florida State is also 18-7-2 ATS in their last 27 non-conference games and 1-4 ATS in their last five Sunday games.
Villanova looked pretty darn impressive in their last game, holding the Cowboys to just 26 points versus their own 42 in the first half. This will be a tough test for the Wildcats though, as they were drilled versus Michigan 73-46 and will get similar resistance here.
I think I’m going to stick with FSU for the cover in this one, as their offense has been quite impressive this season.
