The Florida Gators meet the Nevada Wolf Pack Thursday in the first round of the NCAA college basketball tournament.

The Florida Gators entered the Big Dance as an ‘at-large’ after losing to the Auburn Tigers 65-62 in the SEC championship game.

Kevarrius Hayes was the Gators top option with 16 points and 12 rebound with Jalen Hudson adding 16 points, four pulls and four assists.

Florida received nine points from Kevaughn Allen followed by Noah Lock with eight points and Keyontae Johnson with five points and eight rebounds.

The #20 Nevada Wolf Pack received an ‘at-large’ invitation to the NCAA tournament following a 65-56 loss to the San Diego State Aztecs in the MWC quarterfinals.

Cody Martin led the struggling Aztecs offense with 16 points and six boards followed by Tre’Shawn Thurman with eleven points and eleven rebounds.

The trio of Jazz Johnson, Caleb Martin and Trey Porter gave Nevada eight points each and a combine 16 rebounds with Porter blocking three shots.

Florida Gators are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games overall and  are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 neutral site games and are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600 and  are 36-16 ATS in their last 52 Thursday games.

Nevada Wolf Pack are 19-6-1 ATS in their last 26 games following a straight up loss and  are 16-33-3 ATS in their last 52 neutral site games and are 1-3-1 ATS in their last 5 non-conference games and  are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games following a ATS loss.

Florida looks like the type of team that will be troublesome for the Wolf Pack especially if Jordan Caroline is not 100%. The Gators will try to 'ugly' up this game and things will be close win or lose...

Florida +2

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
