The Texas A&M Aggies and the Florida Gators meet in SEC college basketball action from the Stephen C. O’Connell Center on Tuesday night.

The Texas A&M Aggies will look to rebound after being stifled in a 66-43 loss to Missouri in their last outing. Josh Nebo led the Aggies with 12 points on 4 of 5 shooting while Jay Jay Chandler added 11 points as the only other Aggie to score in double figures in the losing effort. Savion Flagg was held to just 5 points on 1 of 7 shooting but did pull down a team-high 7 rebounds in the losing effort. TJ Starks was held to just 2 points on 0 of 7 shooting but still leads Texas A&M with an average of 13.1 points and 3.4 assists per game while Flagg leads the Aggies in rebounding with 8.1 rebounds per game this season. As a team, Texas A&M is averaging 72.8 points per game on 43.6% shooting from the field, 27.9% from behind the 3-point line and 68.5% from the foul line this season.

The Florida Gators will look to find some consistency after splitting their last 8 games following a 62-52 road win over Georgia last time out. KeVaughn Allen led the Gators with 13 points on 4 of 10 shooting with 3 threes while Noah Locke added 10 points as the only other Gator to score in double figures in the winning effort. Andrew Nembhard matched his 5 points with a team-high 5 assists while Kevarrius Hayes added 7 points and a team-high 9 rebounds and Keyontae Johnson added 8 points and 7 rebounds as well in the victory. Allen leads the Gators in scoring with 11.8 points per game while Hayes leads Florida in rebounding with 6.3 rebounds per game and Nembhard leads the Gators in assists with 5.8 assists per game this season. As a team, Florida is averaging 69.1 points per game on 42.4% shooting from the field, 34.4% shooting from behind the arc and 67.3% from the foul line this season.

Texas A&M is 2-5 ATS in their last 7 conference games and 3-8 ATS in their last 11 Tuesday games while the under is 5-2 in their last 7 games following a loss. Florida is 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games overall and 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games against a team with a losing record while the over is 5-2 in their last 7 conference games. The underdog is 5-1 ATS in the last 6 meetings between these two teams.

It’s hard for me to jump on board with the Aggies after being held to just 43 points against Missouri, especially after how poorly the Aggies have played for much of the season. However, it’s not like Florida has been blowing the doors off of their opponents lately and the Gators have actually done some of their best work away from home as of late. The underdog has had a great amount of success here and 4 of the last 6 meetings between these two teams have been decided by 6 points or less. I just think Florida relies too heavily on their defensive abilities to cover these kinds of numbers, so I’ll take a shot with Texas A&M and the points here.

Texas A&M +10.5
