The Dayton Flyers and the Fordham Rams meet in A-10 conference college basketball action from the Rose Hill Gym on Saturday afternoon.

The Dayton Flyers will look to rebound after alternating wins and losses in each of their last 4 games following a 67-63 loss to George Mason as 8-point favorites. Josh Cunningham led the Flyers with 15 points on 6 of 9 shooting while Obi Toppin added 11 points on 5 of 5 shooting from the floor and Ryan Mikesell added 10 points on 4 of 5 shooting with 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 blocks to finish off the trio of double-digit scorers for Dayton in the losing effort. Jalen Crutcher added 8 points and a team-high 5 assists while Trey Landers chipped in 6 points and a team-high 8 rebounds as well in the defeat. Cunningham leads Dayton in scoring with 15.5 points per game while Landers leads the Flyers in rebounding with 7.6 rebounds per game and Crutcher leads Dayton in assists with 5.9 assists per game this season. As a team, Dayton is averaging 74.8 points per game while shooting 50.4% from the field, the 5th-best field goal percentage in the country, along with a 33.2% mark from 3-point range and 67.8% from the foul line this season.

The Fordham Rams will be out to snap a 7-game losing streak after a 73-71 loss to La Salle in their last outing. Antwon Portley led the Rams with 22 points on 6 of 15 shooting with 4 threes and team-highs of 7 rebounds and 4 assists while Jalen Cobb and Nick Honor each had 15 points, with Cobb shooting 6 of 15 with a pair of threes while Honor added 3 threes and 4 assists. Chuba Ohams added 13 points on 6 of 7 shooting from the field to round out the group of double-digit scorers for Fordham in the loss. Honor leads Fordham in scoring with 16.1 points per game while Portley leads the Rams in assists with 2.9 assists per game and Ohams leads Fordham in rebounding with 4.8 rebounds per game this season. As a team, Fordham is averaging 68.9 points per game on 42.6% shooting from the field, 34.4% from 3-point range and 67.7% from the foul line this season.

Dayton is 9-23-1 ATS in their last 33 games overall and 5-16 ATS in their last 21 road games while the over is 5-0 in their last 5 games against a team with a losing record. Fordham is 15-31-1 ATS in their last 47 games overall and 3-7-1 ATS in their last 11 conference games while the over is 4-1 in their last 5 games against a team with a winning record. Dayton is 7-1 ATS in the last 8 meetings between these two teams and 4-0 ATS in the last 4 meetings between these two teams at Fordham.

I haven’t had much luck with road favorites lately, and Dayton’s form ATS on the road dating back to last season definitely leaves a lot to be desired. However, the Flyers have flat out owned Fordham, winning 30 of the 35 meetings between the two, including each of the last 8 meetings by at least 9 points. That could mean that the Rams are due to get one here, but given the history here I think the only option is to lay the points with Dayton here in another double-digit victory.
