Wednesday college basketball pits the La Salle Explorers against the Fordham Rams.

The La Salle Explorers are looking to get back in the win column after a 78-67 defeat to Rhode Island on Saturday as a five point home dog.

La Salle held a two point edge at the break but the Rams pulled away in the second half behind a huge 57.1%-35.4% edge in marksmanship.

David Beatty led the Explorers with 14 points and three yanks followed by Saul Phiri with 12 points and another three helpers.

Pookie Powell gave La Salle eleven points, seven rebounds and four helpers while Jared Kimbrough added another eleven points and seven boards.

The Fordham Rams have been playing their share of close games but have still six straight to kick off A-10 play after a 71-68 loss at George Mason on Saturday.

Fordham appeared to be primed for the upset with a five point lead at the intermission with the Patriots holding a slight 47.1%-43.6% shooting edge.

Nick Honor led the Rams upset bid with 21 points and five pulls followed by a 13 point, three pull effort from Antwon Portley.

Fordham received nine points from Ty Perry followed by Jalen Cobb who contributed eight points while Jesse Bunting added six points and five pulls.

La Salle Explorers are 17-35-1 ATS in their last 53 games overall and are 9-22-1 ATS in their last 32 road games and  are 4-10 ATS in their last 14 Wednesday games. Fordham Rams are 6-2-1 ATS in their last 9 games following a straight up loss and are 8-17-1 ATS in their last 26 vs. Atlantic 10. Under is 14-3 in the last 17 meetings and La Salle are 4-1-1 ATS in the last 6 meetings.

Fordham is an improved squad but I much rather bet the Rams as an underdog…

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
