The VCU Rams and the Fordham Rams will match up on the college basketball court this Saturday.
VCU comes in here at 9-4 on the season overall. After consecutive losses to Virginia and Charleston, VCU has won their last pair versus Wichita State and Rider.
In the Broncs game, VCU’s top scorer was Mike’l Simms, with 15 points. Marcus Evans provided 14 points, five rebounds and five assists for the Rams, and De’Riante Jenkins logged 13 points with six assists.
Over on the Fordham side, they’re currently 9-4 this year. The Rams are just 2-2 in their last four outings, beating Howard and James Madison but falling to NJIT and LIU Brooklyn.
In the Blackbirds game, Fordham’s Antwon Portley was the team’s lead scorer on 18 points, three rebounds and one assist. The only other Ram in double-figures there was Nick Honor, with 14 points, five assists and one rebound.
VCU is 3-1-1 ATS in their last five following an ATS loss and 5-2-1 ATS in their last eight following a straight-up win. VCU is also 5-2-1 ATS in their last eight versus a team with a winning straight-up record and the under is 4-0 in their last four road games.
Meanwhile, Fordham is 3-0-1 ATS in their last four following a straight-up loss and 12-28-1 ATS in their last 41 overall. Fordham is also 5-15-1 ATS in their last 21 versus the Atlantic 10 and 1-5 ATS in their last six Saturday games.
VCU is a pretty good scoring team this season, but there are a few outliers which are cause for concern. Still, VCU has put up at least 70 in each of their last three outings.
Fordham can hit some pretty high points totals when they’re so motivated as well, but overall they seem a little less consistent with it. I’m going to go with the Rams here—the VCU Rams, that is.
