Fresno State Bulldogs -9.5 O/U: 138
The Air Force Falcons and the Fresno State Bulldogs will meet up on the college basketball circuit Thursday in the Mountain West Tournament.
Air Force rolls into this one at 14-17 overall. The Falcons dropped their last two pre-tournament games to Nevada and Boise State but took out San Jose State 87-56 in the first round Wednesday.
In the win over SJSU, Air Force’s Chris Joyce led the team on 20 points with three rebounds and four assists. Ryan Swan added 14 points with eight rebounds and four assists for the Falcons in that one as well.
Fresno State rolls into this one at 22-8 on the year. The Bulldogs have won their last three straight games, taking out Wyoming, San Diego State and San Jose State in succession in that time.
In the win over the Spartans, Fresno State’s lead scorer was Deshon Taylor with 37 points and eight assists. Braxton Huggins was close behind on 34 points for the Bulldogs there, and Noah Blackwell added 25 points with eight assists.
The Falcons are 3-0-1 ATS in their last four after a straight-up win and 4-1-1 ATS in their last six overall. Air Force is 4-1-1 ATS in their last six versus the Mountain West and 22-10 ATS in their last 32 neutral-site games.
Meanwhile, the Bulldogs are 4-1 ATS in their last five Thursday games and 5-2 ATS in their last seven after a straight-up win. Fresno State is 13-30-1 ATS in their last 44 neutral-site games and 7-3-1 in their last 11 versus the Mountain West.
Fresno State comes into this one with some heat, as they absolutely drilled SJSU 121-81 in their last game Saturday. Since their consecutive losses to Air Force and Nevada, the Bulldogs have put up at least 71 points in each of their three games—all wins, by the way.
The Bulldogs certainly have a few weaknesses, but in this matchup I don’t see them having any issues. I’m going with Fresno State on a big cover here.
