Fresno State Bulldogs -18 O/U: 137
The Wyoming Cowboys and the Fresno State Bulldogs will meet up on the college basketball circuit Wednesday.
Wyoming limps into this one at just 6-21 on the year. The Cowboys have dropped their last four straight games, falling to Utah State, Nevada, UNLV and Colorado state in succession.
In the loss to the Rams, Wyoming’s Justin James was the only team player in double-figures with 29 points, 12 rebounds and two assists. Jake Hendricks (six points) and Trevon TJ Taylor (five points) were the only other Cowboys with more than two points there.
Over on the Fresno State side, they’re 19-8 this year. Following three consecutive wins over UNLV, Boise State and New Mexico, the Bulldogs have lost their last pair versus Air Force and Nevada.
In the loss to the Wolf Pack, Fresno State’s Deshon Taylor led the charge on 30 points with eight assists and four rebounds. Nate Grimes doubled up as the only other Bulldog in double-figures there with 16 points and 11 rebounds.
The Cowboys are 3-0-1 ATS in the last four Wednesday games and 7-20-1 ATS in their last 28 overall. Wyoming is 3-9 ATS in their last 12 road games and 5-15-1 ATS in their last 21 after an ATS loss.
Meanwhile, the Bulldogs are 5-2-1 ATS in their last eight overall and 5-2-1 ATS in their last eight versus the Mountain West. Fresno State is 35-16 ATS in their last 51 after an ATS win and 2-6 ATS in their last eight home games.
Over this losing streak, Wyoming’s scoring has been in the toilet. Respectively, the Cowboys have tallied 59, 49, 56 and 48 points across their last four outings and have lost each game by at least 10 points.
Fresno will get a nice home lift here and should have no issues winning this game, but 18 points is a lot to give up. I am begrudgingly taking the Cowboys to eke in there and cover, but I’m not thrilled about it.
