George Mason Patriots +4.5 O/U: 136.5
The VCU Rams and the George Mason Patriots will meet up on the college basketball circuit Tuesday.
VCU comes into this one at 23-6 overall. The Rams are on a nice 10-game win streak right now, taking out Rhode Island, George Washington, Saint Louis and Richmond in their last four outings.
In the win over the Spiders, VCU’s Marcus Evans led the way on 15 points with five assists and six rebounds. Malik Crowfield (14 poitns), Issac Vann (11 points) and Marcus Santos-Silva (10 points; six rebounds) also finished in double-digits for the Rams there.
Over on the George Mason side, they’re 16-13 this season. The Patriots are just 1-3 in their last four games, with a win over Richmond and losses to St. Bonaventure, Duquesne and Saint Louis in that stretch.
In the loss to the Billikens, George Mason’s lead scorers were Jordan Miller (15 points; nine rebounds) and Jamal Hartnell (15 points). Justin Kier (12 points; six rebounds; five assists) and Otis Livingston (11 points; five assists) finished in double-figures for the Pats there as well.
The Rams are 4-1 ATS in their last five road games and 8-2 ATS in their last 10 overall. VCU is 7-2 ATS in their last nine after a straight-up win and 16-5 ATS in their last 21 Tuesday games.
Meanwhile, the Patriots are 5-2 ATS in their last seven after a straight-up loss and 2-5 ATS in their last seven home games. George Mason is 1-4 ATS in the last five overall and 1-5 ATS in their last six Tuesday games.
VCU has had a couple of scares over their last five games—a 69-68 road win over Dayton and a 69-66 road win over Richmond—but on the whole they’ve looked pretty dominant during this winning streak.
The Rams took a 79-63 victory at home the last time these teams met up, but the Patriots have been scoring pretty well lately and I think they can get it much closer here despite being cold ATS these days. I’m going with George Mason on the home cover.
