Georgia Southern Eagles -12.5 O/U: 158
The Arkansas State Red Wolves and the Georgia Southern Eagles will match up on the college basketball circuit Saturday.
Arkansas State enters this game with a 12-16 mark overall. After taking consecutive games versus TX-Arlington and Little Rock, the Red Wolves lost their last outing versus Georgia State.
In the loss to the Panthers, Arkansas State’s lead scorer was Ty Cockfield, the only player on the team in double-figures with 20 points. Grantham Gillard was close for the Red Wolves however, with nine points and seven rebounds in the defeat.
Over on the Georgia Southern side, they’re 19-10 this season. The Eagles are currently riding a five-game win streak, beating South Alabama, Troy, Coastal Carolina, App State and Little Rock in that time.
In the win over the Trojans, Georgia Southern’s Isaiah Crawley topped the team with 20 points, three rebounds and three assists. Tookie Brown added 19 points for the Eagles in that one, and Montae Glenn doubled up with 12 points and 11 boards.
The Red Wolves are 5-11 ATS in their last 16 Saturday games and 3-11 ATS in their last 14 overall. Arkansas State is 3-11 ATS in their last 14 versus the Sun Belt and 1-6 ATS in the last seven road games.
Meanwhile, the Eagles are 4-0 ATS in their last four home games and 4-0 ATS in their last four after a straight-up win. Georgia Southern is 5-0 ATS in their last five overall and 5-0 ATS in the last five versus the Sun Belt.
Arkansas State was on a nice scoring run before coming up with just 60 versus Georgia State, logging at least 72 points in four straight outings.
Georgia Southern has bested that run however, with at least 72 in nine straight games. All things considered, I can’t find a whole lot of reasons not to take the Eagles on the cover here.
