The Bradley braves will travel to W. S. Hanner Fieldhouse to take on the Georgia Southern Eagles this Tuesday night in College Basketball action.
The Bradley Braves dropped to 7-4 on the season after being defeated by the Eastern Illinois Panthers, 73-66, this past Thursday. Bradley struggled defensively against Eastern Illinois and couldn’t fight back after a 13-4 Panthers run gave Eastern Illinois a 63-52 lead with 6:03 left in regulation. Bradley allowed Eastern Illinois to shoot 42.1% from the field and 54.2% from beyond the arc in the loss. Leading the way for the Braves was Koch Bar who had 13 points, 5 rebounds, and a block.
On the season, Bradley is averaging 71.6 ppg on 45.5% shooting from the field. The Braves are averaging 6.6 three-pointers per game on 33.6% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Bradley has been led by Darrell Brown (15.1 ppg, 2.0 rpg, 3.9 apg, 1.0 spg), Elijah Childs (12.9 ppg, 8.4 rpg, 1.4 spg), Dwayne Lautier-Ogunleye (9.5 ppg, 5.0 rpg, 2.4 apg), and Koch Bar (9.5 ppg, 5.2 rpg, 1.3 bpg).
Defensively, Bradley is allowing their opponents to average 67.6 ppg on 41.4% shooting from the field. The Braves have a rebound margin of 0.9 and a turnover margin of 1.6.
The Georgia Southern Eagles improved to 7-3 on the season after defeating the NAIA Brewton-Parker Wildcats, 101-64, this past Friday night. Georgia Southern led by a 48-35 margin at halftime and had little trouble pulling away in the 2nd half for the victory. Georgia Southern shot 47.9% from the field and forced Brewton-Parker into committing 28 turnovers in the victory. Leading the way for the Eagles was Ike Smith who had a double-double with 18 points, 10 rebounds, and 3 steals.
On the season, Georgia Southern is averaging 89.7 ppg on 52.3% shooting from the field. The Eagles are averaging 5.7 three-pointers per game on 28.6% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Georgia Southern has been led by Tookie Brown (16.5 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 5.1 apg, 1.2 spg), Ike Smith (14.7 ppg, 5.7 rpg), Quan Jackson (14.5 ppg, 4.0 rpg, 2.1 apg, 3.3 spg), and Isaiah Crawley (10.7 ppg, 5.1 rpg, 1.0 spg).
Defensively, Georgia Southern is allowing their opponents to average 76.7 ppg on 43.7% shooting from the field. The Eagles have a rebound margin of 0.9 and a turnover margin of 4.8.
The Braves are 3-0-2 ATS in their last 5 Tuesday games, however, are just 4-12 ATS in their last 16 road games. The Eagles are 5-1-1 ATS in their last 7 home games and 9-3-1 ATS in their last 13 games overall.
Bradley picked up some nice wins early in the season against SMU & Penn State, but it’s been a struggle for the Braves as of late as they have stropped 3 of their last 4. Bradley has a solid defense however, their offense has struggled a bit as they rank just 248th in scoring offense and T-269th in three-pointers made per game. Georgia Southern has been outstanding on the offensive end this season as they rank 9th in scoring offense and 1st in FG%. Georgia Southern does a good job forcing turnovers and as they are a tough team ATS at home, I think the Eagles offense does enough to cover this spread.
