Georgia Southern Eagles -9 O/U: 154.5
The South Alabama Jaguars and the Georgia Southern Eagles will be meeting up on the college basketball circuit Wednesday.
South Alabama comes into this game with a 12-12 mark on the year. Following a three-game win streak over LA-Monroe, Troy and Arkansas State, the Jaguars lost their last outing versus Little Rock.
In the loss to the Trojans, South Alabama’s Rodrick Sikes led the charge on 19 points with one rebound. John Pettway logged 16 points, eight rebounds and four assists for the Jaguars in that game as well.
Over on the Georgia Southern side, they’re 14-10 this season. The Eagles are 2-3 in their last five games, taking out Texas State and Louisiana while falling to TX-Arlington, Georgia State and LA-Monroe.
In the loss to the Warhawks, Georgia Southern’s lead scorer was Tookie Brown, with 28 points, 10 assists and two rebounds. Quan Jackson also had a nice line for the Eagles there with 20 points and three rebounds.
The Jaguars are 6-1 ATS in their last seven overall and 6-1 ATS in their last six versus the Sun Belt. South Alabama is 4-1 ATS in their last five after an ATS loss and 5-2 ATS in their last seven games.
Meanwhile, the Eagles are 4-0 ATS in their last four following a straight-up loss and 5-2 ATS in their last seven after an ATS loss. Georgia Southern is 1-5 ATS in their last six Wednesday games and 1-5 ATS in their last six home games.
The last time these teams met up, the Eagles bagged a road victory in an 88-86 thriller. Since then, the Jaguars have remained competitive in their games, even the ones they don’t end up winning.
The Eagles have been up and down since then, and a tough team to peg on a nightly basis. I’m going to stick with the Jaguars to step up and manage a road cover here.
