Georgia State Panthers -8.5 O/U: 149.5
The Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks and the Georgia State Panthers will meet up on the college basketball court Saturday.
LA-Monroe comes into this one with a 9-6 record overall. The Warhawks are 2-2 in their last four games, taking out Little Rock and Arkansas State while falling to LSU and Georgia Southern in that span.
In the loss to the Eagles, LA-Monroe’s Daishon Smith led the team on 27 points, five assists and six rebounds. Michael Ertel also had a nice outing for the Warhawks on 22 points, three assists and four rebounds.
Over on the Georgia State side, they’re currently 12-4 on the season. The Panthers are riding a nice five-game win streak, getting victories over UNCW, Middle Georgia State, TX-Arlington, Texas State and Louisiana.
In the win over Louisiana, Georgia State guard D’Marcus Simonds was the team’s top scorer with 21 points, six assist and four rebounds. Jeff Thomas added 17 points for the Panthers while Malik Benlevi posted 15 points and nine rebounds.
The Warhawks are 4-0 ATS in the last four overall and 4-1 ATS in their last five after an ATS win. LA-Monroe is 4-1 ATS in their last five versus the Sun Belt and 5-2 ATS in the last seven road games.
Meanwhile, the Panthers are 6-1 ATS in their last seven versus the Sun Belt and 4-1 ATS in their last five Saturday games. Georgia State is 4-1 ATS in their last five overall and 7-3 ATS in the last 10 home games.
LA-Monroe had Georgia Southern in the crosshairs, taking a 41-30 lead into halftime. The Warhawks ran out of juice in the second however, ending up with a 79-78 loss and a lot of regrets.
As for Georgia State, they were drilled 71-59 against Kansas State last month but since have been pretty consistent aside from the relative scares of five-or-less-points wins versus TX-Arlington and Texas State.
I like the Panthers to keep it rolling and cover here.
