The Line: Georgia State Panthers -11 -- Over/Under: 161
The UNC Wilmington Seahawks and the Georgia State Panthers will meet up on the college basketball circuit Wednesday.
The Seahawks enter this game with a 4-7 record overall. UNC Wilmington has thus far fallen to Campbell, Stanford, UNCG, Gardner-Webb, Davidson, UNC and Furman on the year.
In the Paladins game, UNCW’s Devontae Cacok was the only player on the team in double-figures with 11 points and five rebounds. Jaylen Fornes led the Seahawks in rebounds with six, but scored just two points.
Over on the Georgia State side, they’re 7-4 this season. The Panthers’ losses have come courtesy of Montana, Creighton, Liberty and Kansas State on the year thus far.
In the Wildcats game, Georgia State’s Jeff Thomas led the team with 13 points, and Jordan Tyson provided a team-high six rebounds. D’Marcus Simonds provided 10 points for the Panthers and Nelson Phillips chipped in 11.
UNC Wilmington is 3-1-1 ATS in their last five overall and 3-1-1 ATS in their last five versus the Sun Belt. The Seahawks are 0-3-1 ATS in their last four Wednesday games and 0-4-1 ATS in their last five road games.
Meanwhile, the Panthers are 7-2 ATS in their last nine versus a team with a losing straight-up record and 1-5 ATS in their last six following an ATS win. The over is 4-0 in Georgia State's last four Wednesday games and the under is 6-1 in their last seven home games.
UNCW has had a couple of solid outings this year, but on the whole they’re just not playing good basketball—especially on defense. The Seahawks have allowed at least 86 points in each of their last four games.
As for Georgia State, they had a couple of good-looking wins going before coming out flat versus the Wildcats. Still, I like the Panthers to bounce back here and cover.
