The Line: Georgia +6 -- Over/Under: 145
The Kentucky Wildcats and Georgia Bulldogs meet Tuesday in college basketball action at the Stegeman Coliseum.
The Kentucky Wildcats look for another victory after winning five of their last six games. The Kentucky Wildcats are averaging 80.9 points on 49.1 percent shooting and allowing 68.7 points on 42.5 percent shooting. Keldon Johnson is averaging 15.5 points and 1.7 assists while Reid Travis is averaging 13.2 points and 6.5 rebounds. Tyler Herro is the third double-digit scorer and PJ Washington is grabbing 8.1 rebounds. The Kentucky Wildcats are shooting 34.6 percent from beyond the arc and 75.2 percent from the free throw line. The Kentucky Wildcats are allowing 38 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 35.4 rebounds per game. The Kentucky Wildcats have split their first two road games this season.
The Georgia Bulldogs look for a statement win after winning six of their last nine games. The Georgia Bulldogs are averaging 77.3 points on 46.5 percent shooting and allowing 73.2 points on 39.4 percent shooting. Rayshaun Hammonds is averaging 13.9 points and 6.7 rebounds while Nicolas Claxton is averaging 12.6 points and 2.2 assists. Tyree Crump is the third double-digit scorer and Derek Ogbeide is grabbing 6.3 rebounds. The Georgia Bulldogs are shooting 33.1 percent from beyond the arc and 72.5 percent from the free throw line. The Georgia Bulldogs are allowing 30.8 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 37.6 rebounds per game. The Georgia Bulldogs have won seven of their last eight home games.
The Wildcats are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 Tuesday games. The Bulldogs are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 home games, 4-1 ATS in their last 5 Tuesday games and 7-2 ATS in their last 9 games overall. The Wildcats are 1-4 ATS in the last 5 meetings in Georgia and the home team is 10-3 ATS in the last 13 meetings. The under is 5-2 in Bulldogs last 7 overall. The over is 5-2 in Wildcats last 7 road games.
The Kentucky Wildcats are obviously the more talented team here and are starting to hit their stride, but they're also just 5-9 ATS this season as a favorite. The Georgia Bulldogs haven't had much success on the road, but they've been really good at home with wins in seven of their last eight and that one loss was a two-point game against Arizona State. At home this season, Georgia is not only 7-1 ATS but is also outscoring teams by an average of 17.9 points while allowing just 35.3 percent shooting. Throw in the fact this is the time of year where home court advantage means something with the kids back on campus. This feels like a game where Georgia can finally snap the losing streak to Kentucky. I'll take the Georgia Bulldogs and the points while probably sprinkling something on the ML.
