The Line: Georgia Bulldogs -5.5 -- Over/Under:
Out at Stegeman Coliseum on Wednesday, the Ole Miss Rebels and the Georgia Bulldogs will be meeting up in college basketball action.
Ole Miss enters this game with an 8-5 record overall. The Rebels have won their last three games overall, beating Texas A&M-CC, Bradley and South Carolina. In that last game, Mississippi’s Deandre Burnett led the way on 18 points.
On the season, Terence Davis is the top scorer for Ole Miss with 15.2 PPG and 5.9 RPG. Also in double-figures for the Rebels are Burnett (14.7 PPG; 4.9 APG) and Markel Crawford (11.0 PPG).
Over on the Georgia side, they’re sitting at 9-3 this season. The Bulldogs had two wins in succession, but lost their last outing versus Kentucky. In that Wildcats game, Georgia forward Yante Maten logged 17 points.
On the year so far, Maten is leading the Bulldogs with 19.9 PPG, and also leads in rebounding with 9.5 RPG. The only other Georgia player in double-digits is William Jackson with 11.5 PPG and 3.8 APG to his credit.
The Rebels are 4-0 ATS in their last four versus the SEC and 6-2 ATS in their last eight following an ATS win. Ole Miss is also 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games overall and 0-6 ATS in their last six Wednesday games.
Meanwhile, the Bulldogs are 5-1 ATS in their last six ames following a straight-up loss and 19-7 ATS in their last 26 Wednesday games. Georgia is also 5-2 ATS in their last seven games overall and the over is 5-0 in their last five home games.
Ole Miss has been on a pretty good run lately, and three of their last four losses have come in OT so they’re staying in games for the most part. As for Georgia, they’re not loaded with overwhelming scorers, but they are pretty stingy on defense and play up to their competition. Still, I like the Rebels to hang in here and cover.
