The Oakland Golden Grizzlies will travel to Stegeman Coliseum to take on the Georgia Bulldogs this Tuesday night in College Basketball action.

The Oakland Golden Grizzlies lost their 2nd straight game and dropped to 4-7 on the season after being defeated by the Hartford Hawks, 87-82, this past Sunday. Oakland struggled defensively against Hartford and allowed the Hawks to pull away after back-to-back Hartford buckets gave the Hawks an 81-75 lead with 1:28 left in regulation. Oakland allowed Hartford to shoot 55.1% from the field and 47.4% from beyond the arc in the loss. Leading the way for the Golden Grizzlies was Jaevin Cumberland who had 26 points, 6 assists, and 2 rebounds.

On the season, Oakland is averaging 78.7 ppg on 47.8% shooting from the field. The Golden Grizzlies are averaging 11.0 three-pointers per game on 42.3% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Oakland has been led by Xavier Hill-Mais (22.9 ppg, 6.2 rpg, 1.7 apg), Jaevin Cumberland (16.5 ppg, 1.9 rpg, 4.3 apg, 1.0 spg), Karmari Newman (9.4 ppg, 1.7 rpg), and Braden Norris (8.9 ppg, 2.0 rpg, 5.5 apg, 1.1 spg).

Defensively, Oakland is allowing their opponents to average 78.9 ppg on 50.9% shooting from the field. The Golden Grizzlies have a rebound margin of -6.9 and a turnover margin of 0.9.

The Georgia Bulldogs had their 2-game winning streak snapped and dropped to 5-4 on the season after being defeated by the 20th ranked Arizona State Sun Devils, 76-74, this past Saturday. Georgia led by an 47-29 margin late in the 1st half, however, struggled on both ends of the court in the 2nd half and allowed Arizona State to take the lead for good on a Luguentz Dort layup with just :11 seconds left in regulation. Georgia shot 42.6% from the field and 36.4% from beyond the arc in the loss. Leading the way for the Bulldogs was Nicolas Claxton who had 9 points, 13 rebounds, 3 assists, 4 blocks, and a steal.

On the season, Georgia is averaging 78.7 ppg on 48.2% shooting from the field. The Bulldogs are averaging 6.6 three-pointers per game on 34.5% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Georgia has been led by Rayshaun Hammonds (14.9 ppg, 6.3 rpg, 1.7 apg), Nicolas Claxton (12.1 ppg, 9.4 rpg, 2.2 apg, 1.3 spg), Tyree Crump (11.6 ppg, 2.8 rpg, 1.8 apg), and Derek Ogbeide (9.7 ppg, 6.0 rpg).

Defensively, Georgia is allowing their opponents to average 71.8 ppg on 38.3% shooting from the field. The Bulldogs have a rebound margin of 7.1 and a turnover margin of -5.0.

The Golden Grizzlies are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games overall, however, are just 3-10 ATS in their last 13 games following a straight up loss. The Bulldogs are 9-3 ATS in their last 12 non-conference games and 5-2 ATS in their last 7 home games.

Oakland is in the middle of a brutal 8-game road stretch and although they dropped 3 of their last 4 games, the Golden Grizzlies have been competitive tanks to their offense that ranks 87th in scoring offense & 7th in 3P-FG%. Georgia has some solid depth and have also been led by their offense that ranks T-89th in scoring offense & 53rd in FG%. Georgia should have no trouble picking up the win on their home court in this one however, Oakland is a decent mid-major team that covered on road against Xavier & Northeastern recently and as I think the Golden Grizzlies will do some damage from beyond the arc, I’m taking Oakland to cover with the points.

Pick:
Oakland Golden Grizzlies +13
