The Florida State Seminoles collide with the Gonzaga Bulldogs in the Sweet 16 in Thursday college basketball.

The Gonzaga Bulldogs outlasted the Baylor Bears 83-71 as a 14.5 point favorite  on Saturday to move on to yet another Sweet 16.

Brandon Clarke Dominated the game for the Bulldogs with a monster 35 points, seven rebounds and five blocks while Corey Kispert added 16 points with six boards.

Gonzaga received nine points and six helpers from Josh Perkins followed by Zach Norvell Jr. chipped in with seven points, seven rebounds and five assists.

The Florida State Seminoles were impressive at both ends of the floor in a 90-62 demolition of the Murray State Racers to advance to the Sweet 16.

Mfiondu Kabengele paced the Seminoles scoring explosion with 22 points, seven rebounds and three blocks with Terance Mann adding 18 points, eight rebounds and six helpers.

Raiquan Gray gave Florida State eleven points and three yanks followed by Anthony Polite and PJ Savoy chipped in with nine points apiece.

Gonzaga is 1-6-1 against the spread against the ACC, 3-8-1 against the spread in their last 12 NCAA Tournament games, and 5-1 against the spread in their last 6 non-conference games. Florida State is 9-3-2 against the spread in their last 14 neutral site games, 9-4 against the spread following a win, and 3-7-1 against the spread in their last 11 non-conference games.

Florida State knocked Gonzaga out of the Sweet 16 a year ago and the Bulldogs have that motivation as if they needed it. I think the Zags win but the Seminoles have the length and athletes to at least cause trouble…

Mark’s Pick Florida State +8.5

The pick in this article is the opinion of the writer, not a Sports Chat Place site consensus.
