Gonzaga Bulldogs -23.5 O/U: 145
The Loyola Marymount Lions and the Gonzaga Bulldogs will match up in college basketball action Thursday.
Loyola Marymount enters this one at 13-4 on the season. The Lions are just 1-2 in their last three games, taking out Portland and falling to Pepperdine and Saint Mary’s.
In their loss to the Gaels, LMU’s top scorer was Eli Scott, who doubled up on 14 points and 12 rebounds. Mattias Markusson logged double-figures for the Lions as well on 12 points, two assists and one rebound.
Over on the Gonzaga side, they’re currently 16-2 on the year. Gonzaga is sitting on a seven-game win streak, and in their last four outings they’ve dispatched CSUB, Santa Clara, Pacific and San Francisco.
In the win over the Dons, Gonzaga forward Brandon Clarke led the team on 24 points, nine rebounds and two assists. Also with a good night for the Bulldogs was Rui Hachimura, with 21 points, six rebounds and one assist.
The Lions are 6-0 ATS in their last six following a straight-up loss and 7-2 ATS in their last nine following an ATS loss. LMU is 6-2 ATS in their last eight versus the West Coast and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 road games.
Meanwhile, the Bulldogs are 7-0 ATS in the last seven overall and 5-0 ATS in the last five versus the West Coast. Gonzaga is 13-3 ATS in their last 16 home games and 3-7 ATS in their last 10 Thursday games.
For all intents and purposes, this game is set to be a mismatched blowout. LMU’s moxie they displayed earlier in the season doesn’t show up as much these days, and the Lions are struggling against teams they should match up well with.
Gonzaga is going to win this game; the question is by how much. With the line so thick and a batch of decent scorers on the roster, I’m going out on a limb and taking the Lions here.
