The Santa Clara Broncos and the Gonzaga Bulldogs will meet up in college basketball action on Saturday.
Santa Clara comes in here at 9-6 on the year. The Broncos have won their last six outings versus Sonoma State, MS Valley, USC, Idaho, Washington State and San Diego.
In the win over the Toreros, Santa Clara was led by Tahj Eaddy’s 30 points, three assists and three rebounds. Keshawn Justice added 12 points for the Broncos and Josh Martin hauled in 13 rebounds with eight points.
Over on the Gonzaga side, they’re chugging along at 13-2 this season. Since falling to North Carolina on December 15, the Bulldogs have dropped TX-Arlington, Denver, North Alabama and CSUB in succession.
In the win over the Roadrunners, Gonzaga’s Rui Hachimura was the top team scorer with 22 points, four rebounds and two assists. Zach Norvell and Brandon Clarke each chipped in 16 points for the Bulldogs alongside a combined nine assists and 10 rebounds.
Santa Clara is 5-0 ATS in their last five following a straight-up win and 4-0 ATS in their last four following an ATS win. The Broncos are 5-0 ATS in their last five overall and 5-1 ATS in their last six Saturday games.
Meanwhile, the Bulldogs are 4-0 ATS in their last four home games and 4-0 ATS in their last four overall. Gonzaga is 6-1 ATS in their last seven following an ATS win and 5-11 ATS in their last 16 versus the West Coast.
Don’t look now, but Santa Clara is looking pretty good. The Broncos pummeled a good San Diego squad 35-18 in the first half and they’ve had their way with just about everyone since late November.
Sure, everyone knows Gonzaga is a great team, but I think the Broncos are ready for primetime and can bang out a cover here.
