Gonzaga Bulldogs -16.5 O/U: 150.5
The Saint Mary’s Gaels will take on the Gonzaga Bulldogs in college basketball action on Saturday.
Saint Mary’s enters this one with a 15-9 record overall. Following consecutive losses to BYU and Pepperdine, Saint Mary’s has won their last two outings versus San Francisco and Pacific.
In the win over the Tigers, Saint Mary’s top scorer was Jordan Ford on 28 points. Malik Fitts added 14 points and three boards for the Gaels in that one, and Jordan Hunter corralled 14 rebounds with six points.
Over on the Gonzaga side, they’re 22-2 on the year so far. The Bulldogs haven’t lost a game since mid-December, and they’ve dispatched Santa Clara, BYU, San Diego and San Francisco in their last four outings.
In the win over the Dons, Gonzaga’s lead scorer was Brandon Clarke, who doubled up on 20 points and 16 rebounds. Also with nice totals were Rui Hachimura (17 points; five rebounds) and Zach Norvell (16 points).
The Gaels are 5-1 ATS in the last six Saturday games and 5-1 ATS in their last six after an ATS loss. Saint Mary’s are 1-4 ATS in the last five road games and the under is 22-7-2 in the last 31 versus the West Coast.
Meanwhile, the Bulldogs are 7-2 ATS in the last nine home games and 7-2 ATS in the last nine after an ATS win. Gonzaga is 10-3 ATS in their last 13 overall and 8-3 ATS in their last 11 versus the West Coast.
Saint Mary’s last couple of wins were closer games than the final scores indicated. That said, the Gaels have run a pretty solid squad overall lately, and they’re competitive in just about every outing.
That said, Gonzaga looks like a juggernaut right now as they plow through a group of overmatched teams. The line here seems about right, as I can see the Gaels hanging around for most of the game if they come out firing. Still, at home with a nice familiar lift I’m going to stick with the Bulldogs here.
