Gonzaga Bulldogs -4 O/U: 137.5

The Texas Tech Red Raiders and the Gonzaga Bulldogs will match up on the college basketball court Saturday in the NCAA Tournament Elite Eight.

So far in this NCAA Tournament, Texas Tech hasn’t had too much trouble, blowing past Northern Kentucky, Buffalo and then a tough Michigan team 63-44 in their last outing Thursday.

In the upset win over Michigan, Texas Tech’s Jarrett Culver put up 22 points with four rebounds and four assists, and Tariq Owens led the team’s rebounding with 10 alongside seven points.

Over on the Gonzaga side, despite falling to Saint Mary’s in the conference tourney, they’ve put up three victories in this NCAA Tournament, taking out FDU, Baylor and Florida State in succession.

In the win over Florida State, Gonzaga’s top scorer was Rui Hachimura with 17 points, four rebounds and two assists. Brandon Clarke added a double-double for the Bulldogs in that one with 15 points, 12 rebounds and two assists.

The Raiders are 5-0 ATS in their last five Saturday games and 6-1 ATS in their last seven overall. Texas Tech is 5-1 ATS in their last six after a straight-up win and 5-1 ATS in their last six NCAA Tournament games.

Meanwhile, the Bulldogs are 6-1 ATS in their last seven conference games and 9-4-1 ATS in their last 14 versus the Big 12. Gonzaga is 1-4 ATS in their last five after an ATS win and the over is 11-4 in their last 15 Saturday games.

Gonzaga drilled Florida State, rolling to a 72-58 victory that wasn’t all that competitive overall. The Bulldogs got double-digit outings from four players, and the 72 points could even be considered a down-effort from them.

In any case, Texas Tech is as hot as a team can be right now, and after embarrassing Michigan there’s not much I would put past them. Still, with as deep and talented as Gonzaga is, I have to take the Bulldogs to eke out a cover here.
