The Cleveland State Vikings and the Green Bay Phoenix will match up in college basketball activity on Saturday.
Cleveland State comes into this game at 5-11 overall. Following their most recent win over Niagara, the Vikings have dropped their last three versus Oakland, Detroit and Milwaukee.
In the Panthers game, Cleveland State’s Tyree Applebee led the team on 33 points with seven rebounds and six assists. Also in double-figures for the Vikings were Jaalam Hill (13 points; four rebounds) and Rashad Williams (11 points).
Over on the Green Bay side, they’re 8-7 this season. Following losses to Creighton, Michigan State and Evansville, the Phoenix have won their last pair versus Milwaukee and Youngstown State.
In the Penguins game, Green Bay’s JayQuan McCloud put up 24 points with five assists and four rebounds to lead the team. Kameron Hankerson also had a nice game with 19 points, and PJ Pipes chipped in 16 of his own.
The Vikings are 5-0 ATS in their last five Saturday games and 2-5 ATS in their last seven road games. Cleveland State is 1-4 ATS in their last five overall and 0-4 ATS in their last four versus the Horizon League.
Meanwhile, the Phoenix are 6-0-1 ATS in their last seven following an ATS loss and 13-6-1 ATS in their last 20 Saturday games. The over is 8-0 in Green Bay’s last eight versus the Horizon League and 4-0 in their last four following an ATS loss.
Aside from a limp 61-point effort against Detroit, the Vikings have been reasonably competitive and putting up decent points totals in their last handful of games. Cleveland State is still losing by pretty large margins overall, however.
The Phoenix are prone to a few lapses themselves, but overall they’ve been way more reliable in comparison. I’m going with Green Bay here.
