The Radford Highlanders battle the Hampton Pirates in Big South college basketball action on Thursday.

The Radford Highlanders remain atop the Big South after downing 80-61 victory at Winthrop as a 2.5 point underdog on Saturday.

Radford erased a two halftime deficit with a 51-30 run over the final 20 minutes behind a  51.9%-33.9%  edge in marksmanship.

Carlik Jones led the big offense of the Highlanders with 23 points, ten rebounds and six helpers while Travis Fields Jr. tossed in 16 points.

Caleb Turner gave Radford 13 points followed Ed Polite Jr. with nine points and eleven rebounds with Donald Hicks adding seven points and three yanks.

The Hampton Pirates saw their three game winning streak end in an 85-69 loss at High Point as a 2.5 point underdog on Saturday.

Hampton trailed by 18 points at the break and traded baskets the rest of the way with just 38.5% shooting to lean on and nine trips to the line.

Jermaine  Marrow was  the  biggest Pirates  threat  pouring in  33  points followed  by  Kalin Fisher  with  another 13  points.

Hampton saw eight points and five boards form Akim Mitchell while Diondre Griffin and Trevond Barnes tossed another eight points each.
