The Columbia Lions and the Harvard Crimson meet in Ivy League college basketball action from the Lavietes Pavilion on Friday night.

The Columbia Lions will look to rebound from back-to-back losses after a 72-70 loss to Penn in their last outing. Gabe Stefanini led the Lions with 27 points on 12 of 20 shooting with a team-high 6 rebounds and 3 assists while Quinton Adlesh added 15 points with 3 assists and 3 steals as the only other Columbia player to score in double figures in the losing effort. Adlesh leads Columbia in scoring with 13.5 points per game while Stefanini leads the Lions in the assist department with 3.9 assists per game and Randy Brumant leads Columbia in rebounding with 5.9 rebounds per game this season. As a team, Columbia is averaging 73.1 points per game on 45.2% shooting from the field, 36.3% from behind the arc and 72.1% from the foul line this season.

The Harvard Crimson will be looking to build on their current 4-game winning streak after a 68-47 win over Brown last time out. Bryce Aiken led the Crimson with 12 points on 3 of 7 shooting with a pair of threes while Chris Lewis, Robert Baker and Justin Bassey each had 10 points to round out the quartet of double-digit scorers for Harvard in the win with Baker pulling down a team-high 7 rebounds while Bassey grabbed 5 boards. Christian Juzang added 6 points and a team-high 4 assists as well in the winning effort for Harvard. Bassey leads Harvard with an average of 9.9 points and 7.2 rebounds per game while Juzang leads the Crimson in assists with 3.2 assists per game this season. As a team, Harvard is averaging 69.2 points per game on 47.3% shooting from the field, 36.8% from behind the arc and 67% from the foul line this season.

Columbia is 5-2 ATS in their last 7 road games and 2-5 ATS in their last 7 conference games while the over is 4-1 in their last 5 games against a team with a winning record. Harvard is 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games overall and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games against a team with a losing record while the under is 4-0 in their last 4 games following a win. Columbia is 5-2 ATS in the last 7 meetings between these two teams and 6-2 ATS in the last 8 meetings between these two teams at Harvard.

Columbia had a close call against Penn, but were suffocated against the Ivy League’s best in Princeton before that. This is a lot of points to lay when the Lions have had lots of success in this matchup, but the fact is that Harvard is playing the much better basketball of the two sides and are outscoring opponents by 13.7 points per game during this current 4-game winning streak. I think Harvard will look to make a statement down the stretch and it starts with a double-digit win over Columbia here.

Harvard -9.5
