Houston Cougars -10 O/U 141.5
The Connecticut Huskies and the Houston Cougars will match up on the college basketball court Friday in the AAC Tournament.
Connecticut enters this one at 16-16 overall. The Huskies dropped to Temple on March 9 but since have taken out East Carolina on March 10 and South Florida in the first round of the tournament Thursday.
In the win over the Bulls, UConn’s top scorer was Christian Vital with 25 points, five rebounds and three assists. Jalen Adams also had a nice game for the Huskies there with 19 points, five assists and six boards.
Over on the Houston side, they’re 29-2 this year. The Cougars were shocked by UCF on March 2, but since have beaten SMU and Cincinnati in consecutive outings.
In the win over the Bearcats, Houston’s Corey Davis led the tam on 31 points with six assists and two rebounds. Nate Hinton posted a double-double for the Cougars in that game with 16 points and 11 rebounds.
The Huskies are 10-4 ATS in their last 14 overall and 8-20-1 ATS in their last 29 Friday games. Connecticut is 2-7 ATS in their last nine neutral-site games and 10-4 ATS in their last 14 versus the AAC.
Meanwhile, the Cougars are 6-1 ATS in their last seven neutral-site games and 21-8-1 ATS in their last 30 versus the AAC. Houston is 33-16-2 ATS in their last 51 overall and 1-4 ATS in their last five Friday games.
Connecticut put together a nice effort versus the Bulls, jumping out to a 39-26 first-half lead that led into a 80-73 final score. After a bit of a points lull, the Huskies have bagged at least 71 in each of their last three outings.
As for Houston, they were embarrassed by UCF but since have gotten back in the swing of things with two dominant wins. I fully expect the Cougars to win here, but the line is just a little thick for my tastes. I’m going Huskies.
