The Oregon Ducks face the Houston Cougars in a non-conference college basketball bout.

The Oregon Ducks suffered a huge upset in an 89-84 defeat to visiting Texas Southern as a 25 point home favorite on Monday. Oregon led by seven at the half but could not contain the Tigers in the second half. Both squads sank shots in the 48% range with Texas Southern holding a 16-7 advantage at the line which was decisive.

Bol Bol exploded for a game high 32 points and eleven rebounds on 13-22 marksmanship including 4-6 from distance while Payton Pritchard gave the Ducks 14 points and seven helpers on 5-11 ab another four long balls. Oregon received 13 points each from Victor Bailey Jr. and Will Richardson on 10-15 shooting with Richardson grabbing eight rebounds while Paul White added eight points and five assists.

The Houston Cougars are a perfect 5-0 start to the 2018-19 campaign after defeating a stubborn Texas Rio Grande Valley 58-53 as a 22 point favorite on Wednesday. Houston struggled offensively at 38.9% but their defense saved the day with only 34.4% shooting allowed.

Corey Davis Jr. carried the Cougars offense with 23 points, three yanks and four assists on 8-22 from the floor and 3-11 from beyond the arc. Houston saw Brison Gresham add 12 points, eight rebounds and four blocks on 5-6 accuracy followed by a combined 15 points from Galen Robinson Jr. and Armoni Brooks with Brooks hauling in 12 rebounds.
