Montana at Idaho State
|Date & Time||Saturday February 16, 2019, 9:05 PM (EST)|
Idaho State Bobcats -7 O/U: 147
The Montana Grizzlies and the Idaho State Bengals will meet up on the college basketball court Saturday.
Montana enters this matchup at 18-6 on the year overall. The Grizzlies are sitting on an eight-game win streak right now, taking out Northern CO, Idaho, Idaho State, Weber State, Montana State, Idaho, Eastern Washington and Weber State in succession.
In the win over the Wildcats, Montana’s top scorer was Sayeed Pridgett with 29 points, 16 rebounds and two assists. Michael Oguine added 17 points and nine rebounds for the Grizzlies in that one as well.
Over on the Idaho State side, they’re 9-14 this year. Following consecutive wins over Portland State and Northern Arizona, the Bengals have lost their last two versus Southern Utah and Montana State.
In the loss to the Bobcats, Idaho State guard Brandon Boyd led the team on 22 points, five rebounds and three assists. Kelvin Jones doubled up for the Bengals in that loss, dropping 15 points and 10 rebounds.
Montana is 6-2 ATS in the last eight road games and 6-2 ATS in the last eight road games versus a team with a losing home record. The Grizzlies are 17-8-1 ATS in their last 26 after an ATS win and the over is 4-0 in their last four overall.
Meanwhile, the Bengals are 1-3-1 ATS in their last five Saturday games and 1-4-1 ATS in their last six overall. Idaho State is 1-4-1 ATS in the last six versus the Big Sky and 0-4-1 ATS in their last five home games.
The last time these teams met was on January 24 in an 80-69 home win for Montana. The Grizzlies have had a couple of close calls during this nice win streak, but on the whole they’re performing near optimally for their lineup.
As for Idaho State, they’ve had some duds lately but have been scoring pretty well over their last three outings. Still, with the run that the Grizzlies are on, I have to take Montana on the cover here.
