Idaho State Bengals -3.5
The Sacramento State Hornets and the Idaho State Bengals will meet up on the college basketball court Thursday.
Sac State enters this one at 8-9 on the season so far. The Hornets are 2-2 over their last four games, beating Northern Arizona and Idaho while falling to Southern Utah and Eastern Washington in that time.
In the OT loss versus the Eagles, Sacramento State’s top scorer was Marcus Greaves with 29 points, seven rebounds and nine assists. Ethan Esposito added 19 points and seven rebounds for the Hornets in that one and Osi Nwachukwu logged 10 points with 10 rebounds.
Over on the Idaho State side, they’re 7-11 on the year. The Bengals have dropped their last four straight games, falling to Weber State, Northern Colorado, Montana and Montana State in that stretch.
In the loss to the Bobcats, Idaho State was led by Balint Mocsan with 25 points and two assists. Brandon Boyd added 21 points in that one and Chier Maker had 10 points with 10 boards for the Bengals.
The Hornets are 2-6 ATS in their last eight versus the Big Sky and 2-7-1 ATS in their last 10 overall. Sacramento State is 1-4-1 ATS in their last six road games and 2-9 ATS in their last 11 Thursday games.
Meanwhile, the Bengals are 10-1 ATS in their last 11 after an ATS loss and 8-2 ATS in their last 10 Thursday games. Idaho State is 12-4 ATS in their last 16 after a straight-up loss and 1-5 ATS in their last six home games.
The Hornets put up a pretty solid offensive effort in the OT loss to Eastern Washington, but ended up losing 94-92. Sacramento State’s last three losses have each been by five points or fewer.
The Bengals had a three-game stretch where they logged under 70 points in each game, so I’m not super confident of their ability to be competitive here. I’m going to stick with the Hornets to get a much-needed win and cover.
