The Line: Idaho Vandals +6 -- Over/Under:
The UC Santa Barbara Gauchos and the Idaho Vandals will meet up in college basketball activity on Saturday from CenturyLink Arena.
The Gauchos are sitting at 4-1 on the year. UCSB opened up with a win over Wyoming before falling to ND State. Cal Lutheran, Montana State and Portland State all fell to the Gauchos in the next three games.
In the 76-69 win over the Vikings on Friday, UCSB’s lead scorer was Ar’mond Davis with 20 points, six rebounds and two assists. Jarriese Blackmon nearly missed a double-double on 10 points, nine rebounds and three assists in that game.
Over on the Idaho side, they’re currently 1-3 this season. The Vandals fell to UC Irvine in the opener then Nicholls State in game two. Idaho managed a win over Bethesda before falling to NW Nazarene 77-73 Friday.
In the Friday game, Idaho’s was up 33-27 following the first half, but then couldn’t keep up in the second when Northwest Nazarene posted a 50-40 finish.
The Vandals are 4-1 ATS in their last five Saturday games and 0-5 ATS in their last five overall. The over is 4-0 in Idaho’s last four overall and 14-3-2 in their last 19 Saturday games.
Meanwhile, the Gauchos are 4-0 ATS in their last four versus the Big Sky and 10-2 ATS in their last 12 non-conference games. UCSB is 4-1 ATS in their last five Saturday games and the over is 4-0 in their last four versus the Big Sky.
UCSB has looked pretty solid so far, aside from a dud versus ND State in their second game. Otherwise, the offense has flowed smoothly and the Gauchos are looking well-rounded and tough. I’m on the UCSB bandwagon here for the cover.
