The Weber State Wildcats and Idaho Vandals meet Monday in college basketball action at the Cowan Spectrum.
The Weber State Wildcats look for a spark of consistency after splitting their last eight games. The Weber State Wildcats are averaging 75.8 points on 45 percent shooting and allowing 77 points on 45.5 percent shooting. Jerrick Harding is averaging 20.9 points and 4.3 rebounds while Cody John is averaging 16.3 points and 1.7 assists. Brekkott Chapman is the third double-digit scorer and Zach Braxton is grabbing 7.7 rebounds. The Weber State Wildcats are shooting 33.5 percent from beyond the arc and 71.3 percent from the free throw line. The Weber State Wildcats are allowing 34.8 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 33.2 rebounds per game. The Weber State Wildcats have lost two of their last three road games.
The Idaho Vandals could use a victory here that would snap a five-game losing streak. The Idaho Vandals are averaging 66.4 points on 41.8 percent shooting and allowing 76.7 points on 44.5 percent shooting. Cameron Tyson is averaging 13.7 points and 1.8 rebounds while Trevon Allen is averaging 13.1 points and 4.3 rebounds. Jared Rodriguez is grabbing six rebounds and Marquell Fraser is dishing 3.1 assists. The Idaho Vandals are shooting 33 percent from beyond the arc and 67.3 percent from the free throw line. The Idaho Vandals are allowing 33.8 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 31.6 rebounds per game. The Idaho Vandals have lost their last three home games.
The Wildcats are 2-5-1 ATS in their last 8 road games, 1-4 ATS in their last 5 Monday games and 4-10-1 ATS in their last 15 games overall. The Vandals are 2-12 ATS in their last 14 home games, 5-0-1 ATS in their last 6 Monday games and 7-20 ATS in their last 27 games overall. The home team is 5-1 ATS in the last 6 meetings. The under is 3-1-1 in Wildcats last 5 overall. The over is 5-1 in Vandals last 6 home games.
Both of these teams have had some serious issues when you look at the numbers, but the Idaho Vandals have been at a different level of stink. Idaho isn't only being outscored by more than 10 points on the season, but its being outscored by 14.6 points in its last five games and 8.8 points at home. The Weber State Wildcats have at least had a decent schedule to explain their struggles, and that offense is capable of lighting it up. With Idaho being one of the worst offensive teams in the country, I'll eat the chalk with Weber State.
