Horizon League college basketball pits the Detroit Titans against the UIC Flames.

The Detroit Titans fell to 5-2 in conference play following a 79-73 loss to Oakland on Saturday as a one point home favorite.

Detroit was down six at the halfway point and a late comeback fell short with Oakland holding a 50.9%-42% edge in marksmanship.

Antoine Davis kept the Titans in contention with 19 points and three helpers with Willy Isiani contributing 12 points.

Detroit received eleven points, five pulls and four helpers from Marquis Moore followed by Josh McFolley with eight points, three yanks and four assists.

The Illinois-Chicago Flames have followed a two game winning streak with back to back defeats after a 90-85 loss at Green Bay on Saturday.

This was close throughout with Illinois-Chicago getting outshot 47%-43.1% but staying competitive with 12 makes from beyond the arc.

Godwin Boahen was the top weapon for the Flames with 25 points, six boards and five assists with Marcus Ottey tossing in 19 points.

Michael Diggins gave UIC 16 points and six rebounds followed by Tarkus Ferguson with 15 points, nine rebounds and three assists.

Detroit Titans are 7-2 ATS in their last 9 road games and  are 14-4 ATS in their last 18 games overall. UIC Flames are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games overall and  are 3-8 ATS in their last 11 vs. Horizon League. Under is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings in Illinois-Chicago and road team is 4-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings.

Illinois-Chicago has the talent to do better then they have and if that talent plays as capable I don’t think the Titans can keep up. But will that talent show up?

Pick:
Detroit +6

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
