UIC Flames -3.5 O/U: 152.5
The Oakland Golden Grizzlies and the UIC Flames will meet up in college basketball action Saturday.
Oakland comes into this one at 9-12 on the year. Following consecutive wins versus Green Bay and Detroit, the Grizzlies fell in their last appearance on Thursday 73-71 to IUPUI.
In the win over the Jaguars, Oakland’s top scorer was Tray Maddox, with 21 points and four assists. Xavier Hill-Mais doubled up for the Golden Grizzlies in that one with 11 points, 11 rebounds and three assists of his own.
Over on the UIC side, they’re 10-11 this season. After two consecutive losses to Milwaukee and Green Bay, the Flames managed a 79-67 victory over Detroit at home in their last outing Thursday.
In the win over the Titans, UIC’s Jordan Blount led the charge with 19 points, 10 rebounds and three assists. Marcus Ottey provided 14 points for the Flames there, and Godwin Boahen added 13 points.
Oakland is 5-1 ATS in their last six Saturday games and 8-19 ATS in their last 27 versus the Horizon League. The Grizzlies are 6-16 ATS in their last 22 after a straight-up loss and the under is 14-6 in their last 20 road games.
Meanwhile, the Flames are 25-10 ATS in their last 35 versus a team with a losing straight-up record and 12-5 ATS in their last 17 after an ATS win. UIC is 7-3 ATS in their last 10 home games and 4-9 ATS in their last 13 Saturday games.
Oakland can look at their 2-2 record over the last four games and say that they could very well be 4-0 if they’d had better finishes. Those last two losses versus Milwaukee and IUPUI came by just five combined points.
As for UIC, they’ve been all over the place as far as scoring this season, but their last couple of outings have been relatively consistent with at least 79 points in each.
Still, I think this is Oakland’s game to win and cover if they come in with a little confidence.
