The Line: Illinois State Redbirds +4.5 -- Over/Under: 156
The Ole Miss Rebels and the Illinois State Redbirds will match up in college basketball activity on Saturday.
Mississippi enters this one at 5-2 on the year. The Rebels’ two losses came versus Butler and Cincinnati, but they’ve won their last two outings versus San Diego and LA-Monroe.
In the Warhawks game, Mississippi’s Breein Tyree led the team on 20 points with three rebounds and three assists. Blake Hinson posted 17 points with four assists and Terence Davis had 15 points with eight rebounds for the Rebels.
Over on the Illinois State side, they’re 6-4 this season. The Cardinals started out on a pretty good run but have lost their last pair of games versus San Diego State and UIC.
In the Flames matchup, Illinois State’s Milik Yarbrough led the way on 30 points with six rebounds and two assists. Josh Jefferson added 18 points, six rebounds and five assists for the Cardinals there.
Ole Miss is 7-1 ATS in their last eight overall and 6-1 ATS in their last seven non-conference games. Mississippi is 4-1 ATS in their last five following an ATS win and 2-7 ATS in their last nine Saturday games.
Meanwhile, Illinois State is 6-1 ATS in their last seven versus the SEC and and 3-7 ATS in their last 10 overall. The Redbirds are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 non-conference games and 1-4 ATS in their last five following an ATS loss.
Aside from a couple of stumbles here and there, Mississippi has looked pretty good overall and they seem to be scoring well for the most part—with 176 points in their last two games combined.
As for Illinois State, they had a nice little three-game run going but haven’t been as sharp over their last pair. I have to go with the Rebels on the cover here.
