The Missouri Tigers will look to add to their current 4-game winning streak after a 71-56 win over Xavier in their last outing. Jeremiah Tilmon led the way with 23 points on 10 of 15 shooting with a team-high 10 rebounds and a pair of steals while Jordan Geist and Mark Smith each had 13 points to round out the trio of double-digit scorers for Mizzou in the win, with Smith drilling 3 triples while Geist added 7 rebounds and 3 steals. Xavier Pinson added 6 rebounds and a team-high 5 assists as well in the winning effort. Geist leads Missouri with an average of 12.7 points and 2.4 assists per game while Tilmon leads the Tigers on the glass with 6.6 rebounds per game this season. Illinois is 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games overall and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 neutral site games while the under is 14-6-1 in their last 21 non-conference games. Missouri is 3-0-1 ATS in their last 4 games overall and 3-1-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a win while the under is 4-1 in their last 5 games against the Big Ten. Illinois is 3-1-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings between these two teams.
Illinois has had the bulk of the success between these two teams, but unless there’s something I don’t know, I’m not sure why Missouri is an underdog here. This game is still being played in Missouri and the Tigers are the hotter team here. Illinois is the higher-scoring team of the pair, but I value a win over Xavier a bit more highly than I do against Tennessee State. I’ll take the point with Missouri here.
