The Chicago State Cougars have nowhere to go but up after winning just three games last season. To make matters worse for Chicago State, it’s top-four scorers from last season don’t return, which means Anthony Harris, who averaged 5.8 points and 2.6 rebounds on 44.4 percent shooting, is the top returning player for the Cougars. Travon Bell averaged almost 14 minutes per game and Cameron Bowles shot 40 percent from the field in almost 20 minutes per game. Needless to say, the Chicago State Cougars have their work cut out for them, but the good news is that games like this should get them prepared for the upcoming season in WAC. The Chicago State Cougars haven’t won a road game since January of 2017.
The Indiana Hoosiers lost seven of their last 11 games and finished the year just one game above a .500 record. Juwan Morgan returns as the top player for the Hoosiers after averaging 16.5 points and 7.4 rebounds while De'Ron Davis averaged 9.6 points and 4.3 rebounds. Devonte Green averaged 7.6 points and 2.5 assists and Justin Smith averaged 6.5 points and 3.2 rebounds. Indiana also has one of the top recruits in the country in Romeo Langford, who is sure to be a top pick once he throws his name in the NBA draft conversation. The Indiana Hoosiers could certainly be the dark horse in the Big Ten this season if everything comes together. The Indiana Hoosiers have split their last six home games.
The Cougars are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 vs. Big Ten. The Hoosiers are 13-3 ATS in their last 16 home games, 5-15-1 ATS in their last 21 Tuesday games and 12-4 ATS in their last 16 games overall. The over is 7-3-1 in Cougars last 11 overall and the over is 4-1 in Hoosiers last 5 overall.
The Chicago State Cougars won just three games last year, and now they're going into one of the tougher venues in the sport to play an under the radar Indiana Hoosiers. Indiana is going to make some noise in the Big Ten this year and when those shots are falling, it can feel like an avalanche. This should be a blowout for the home team. ...
