The Line: Indiana Hoosiers -7.5 -- Over/Under:
Over at Bloomington Assembly Hall on Wednesday, the Illinois Fighting Illini will be visiting the Indiana Hoosiers in college basketball activity.
Illinois enters this game with a 12-14 record overall. The Illini have lost their last three straight games, most recently to Penn State on Sunday. In that one, Illinois’ Leron Black managed 18 points to lead the team.
Black is the top scorer on the Illini roster for the season as well, with 14.4 PPG and 5.4 RPG. The only other Illinois player in double-figures this year is Trent Frazier with 12.3 PPG, but Michael Finke isn’t too far off with 9.6 PPG.
Over on the Indiana side, they’re currently 14-12 on the year. The Hoosiers have won their last two games, and took out Minnesota on Friday. In that game, Indiana forward Juwan Morgan managed 19 points and nine rebounds.
Morgan leads the Hoosiers in scoring this year with 16.9 PPG and 7.3 RPG, and Robert Johnson is the only other Indiana player in double-figures with 13.3 PPG and 4.5 RPG to his credit.
The Illini are 2-5 ATS in their last seven games overall and 2-5 ATS in their last seven versus the Big Ten. Illinois is also 1-4 ATS in their last five Wednesday games and 0-5 in their last five following a straight-up loss.
Meanwhile, Indiana is 8-0 ATS in their last eight home games and 6-1 ATS in their last seven games overall. The Hoosiers are also 6-1 ATS in their last seven versus the Big Ten and 4-1 ATS in their last five following an ATS win.
The Illini got drilled by Penn State Sunday, scoring just 16 points in the second half. Illinois has now won just two games in the 2018 calendar year. Indiana, meanwhile, has had some major difficulties lately—but then again they’ve seen some tough teams as well. The last time these squads met at Illinois, the Illini took a 73-71 win. I think the Hoosiers will get some revenge here and cover.
