Out at Bloomington Assembly Hall on Tuesday, the Penn State Nittany Lions and the Indiana Hoosiers will be meeting up in college basketball action.

Penn State enters this one with a 12-5 record overall. The Nittany Lions have won two of their last three games, taking out Coppin State and Northwestern in that time. In the Wildcats game, Penn State’s Lamar Stevens posted 30 points.

This season, Tony Carr leads the Nittany Lions with 18.3 PPG, while Stevens has 15.1 PPG with 6.7 RPG. Also in double-figures for Penn State are Mike Watkins (13.0 PPG; 9.5 RPG), Josh Reaves (10.8 PPG) and Shep Garner (10.2 PPG).

Over on the Hoosiers’ side, they’re currently 9-7 this season. The Gophers have won three of their last four games, most recently taking out Minnesota in their last outing. In that one, Hoosiers guard Robert Johnson posted 28 points.

Heading up the scoring for Indiana this season is Juwan Morgan with 15.7 PPG and 7.3 RPG. Johnson is the only other Hoosier in double-digits (13.6 PPG), but De’Ron Davis is close on 9.6 PPG so far.

Penn State is 1-3-1 ATS in their last five road games and 2-6-1 ATS in their last nine versus the Big Ten. The Nittany Lions are also 1-5 ATS in their last six following a straight-up win and 1-4 ATS in their last five Tuesday games.

Meanwhile, the Hoosiers are 5-2 ATS in their last seven home games and 18-40-1 ATS in their last 59 games following an ATS win. Indiana is also 1-4 ATS in their last five Tuesday games and 1-5 ATS in their last six games following a straight-up win.

Penn State’s record this year is a little deceiving: they’ve been rolling through the smaller schools (except for a head-slapping loss to Rider) but have generally had troubles with the larger programs. As for Indiana, they’ve been up and down all year. The Hoosiers have been winning lately but haven’t exactly faced prime competition. I’ll take Penn State.

Pick:
Penn State Nittany Lions PK
