Columbia Lions (2-6) at Iona Gaels (2-5)
|Date & Time||Sunday December 9, 2018, 11:00 AM (EST)|
The Line: Iona Gaels -2.5 -- Over/Under: 158.5
The Columbia Lions and the Iona Gaels will match up in college basketball action on Sunday.
Columbia enters this game at 2-6 on the season. The Lions’ only two wins this year have come against SJC-Brooklyn on November 25 and against Bryant on Friday in their most recent appearance.
In the Bulldogs game, Columbia’s Gabe Stefanini led the team on 26 points with five rebounds and three assists. Quinton Adlesh added 20 points and four assists for the Lions, and Jake Killingsworth chipped in 13 with six rebounds.
Over on the Gaels’ side, they’re 2-5 this season. Iona has taken out Albany and Hartford this year but dropped their last three games, most recently to VCU last Saturday 88-59.
In the Rams game, Iona’s Rickey McGill and EJ Crawford put up 16 points apiece, with three assists and 13 rebounds between them. Tajuan Agee added nine points with five boards for the Gaels.
The Lions are 7-1 ATS in their last eight Sunday games and 2-5 ATS in their last seven following an ATS win. Columbia is 2-7-1 ATS in their last 10 overall and 1-4 ATS in their last five versus the MAA.
Meanwhile, the Gaels are 17-35 ATS in their las 52 non-conference games and 1-4 ATS in their last five neutral-site games. Iona is 0-4 ATS in their last four following a straight-up loss and 0-8 ATS in their last eight overall.
The good news for Columbia is that they have a group of pretty good scorers this year and they’ve put up some solid points totals. The bad news is that they also routinely hemorrhage points on the other side.
Still, I don’t think the Gaels will be able to match up blow-for-blow here so I’m going with the Lions on the cover.
