Friday college basketball action features the Iona Gaels hosting the Marist Red Foxes.
The Marist Red Foxes are hoping to avoid a three game skid after falling to Saint Peter’s as a 1.5 point underdog.
Marist struggled late in the second half despite holding a 44.9%-40% shooting advantage with the Peacocks sinking 16 more free throws.
Brian Parker was the lone Red Foxes player to crack double figures with 17 points with Tobias Sjoberg adding nine points and four pulls.
Marist received eight points and four boards from Austin Williams followed by Aleksandar Dozic and Ryan Funk with seven points each.
The offensive minded Iona Gaels routed Canisius 88-70 on Sunday as a 3.5 point road dog. Iona jumped to a 19 point lead at the intermission and were never challenged behind 53.6% marksmanship.
EJ Crawford and Rickey McGill led the Gaels scoring spree with 20 points apiece and a combined seven boards.
Iona received 17 points, eleven rebounds and four helpers from Ben Perez while Asante Gist tossed in 18 points off the bench.
