Iowa City, Iowa
Iowa Hawkeyes -6.5 O/U: 146.5
The Indiana Hoosiers and the Iowa Hawkeyes will match up on the college basketball court Friday.
Indiana enters play here with a 13-13 mark so far. The Hoosiers have lost their last four straight games, falling to Iowa, Ohio State, Minnesota and Purdue during that stretch.
In the loss to the Boilermakers, Indiana’s only double-digit scorer was Romeo Langford on 14 points, nine rebounds and two assists. Juwan Morgan nearly doubled up for the Hoosiers in that one with nine points and 11 rebounds.
Over on the Iowa side, they’re 20-6 this season. Following a four-game win streak over Michigan, Indiana, Northwestern and Rutgers, Iowa lost their last outing versus Maryland 66-65.
In the loss to the Terrapins, Iowa’s Jordan Bohannon led the team with 14 points, four assists and three rebounds. Isaiah Moss doubled up as the only other double-figure scorer in that one for the Hawkeyes, with 12 points and 10 boards.
Indiana is 1-4 ATS in their last five road games and 2-8 ATS in their last 10 overall. The Hoosiers are 2-8 ATS in the last 10 versus the Big Ten and 2-5 ATS in their last seven following an ATS win.
Meanwhile, the Hawkeyes are 4-1 ATS in their last five Friday games and 2-5 ATS in their last seven overall. Iowa is 2-5 ATS in their last seven versus the Big Ten and the under is 7-3 in their last 10 home games.
Indiana has been a wildly unpredictable team at many points during the year, and they seem to have a tendency to play up—or down—to their opponents. The Hoosiers hung in the last time these two teams met, falling at home 77-72, then proceeded to get drilled 84-63 by Minnesota two games later before nearly toppling Purdue 48-46. Go figure.
Most common sense would dictate this should be another close game, so I’m going to take Indiana to stick around and cover here. That said, I’m not going anywhere near it in reality.
