Iowa City, Iowa
Iowa Hawkeyes -2 O/U: 147.5
The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Iowa Hawkeyes will match up in college basketball action on Saturday.
Ohio State enters this one with a 12-3 record overall. Following a six-game winning streak, the Buckeyes have dropped their last pair of outings to Michigan State and Rutgers.
In the loss to the Scarlet Knights, Ohio State’s Kaleb Wesson put up 18 points with seven rebounds to lead the team. Luther Muhammad added 13 points, six rebounds and two assists for the Buckeyes there.
Over on the Iowa side, they’re 13-3 this season. The Hawkeyes have won seven of their last eight games (with a loss to Purdue being the only outlier), including a win over Northwestern in their last outing.
In the win over the Wildcats, Iowa’s top scorer was Joe Wieskamp, with 19 points, seven rebounds and one assist. Luka Garza added 16 points and five rebounds for the Hawkeyes and Nicholas Baer corralled 10 rebounds.
Ohio State is 3-7 ATS in their last 10 following an ATS loss and 1-4 ATS in their last five Saturday games. The Buckeyes are 1-5 ATS in their last six overall and 1-5 ATS in their last six road games versus a team with a winning home record.
Meanwhile, the Hawkeyes are 2-6 ATS in their last eight Saturday games and the under is 4-0 in their last four games following an ATS win. The under is 5-1 in Iowa’s last six Saturday games and 5-2 in their last seven overall.
With two straight losses under their belts, it’s go-time for the Buckeyes if they’re going to remain one of the top teams in the nation. That starts here in a road game as an underdog versus a notable rival.
I don’t think Iowa has quite hit that elite level that the Buckeyes are on (or are supposed to be on, anyway), and not ready to fend off Ohio State just yet. I’m going with the Buckeyes in what should be an intense, must-watch game.
